New moon to dark moon. Seed to harvest. The wheel turns, and she turns with it.

There is a reason so many of us feel the moon in our bodies before we see her in the sky.

She governs tides. She governs cycles. She governs the ancient rhythm of release and return that lives in every living thing — including you, including the dollie now sitting on your altar.

Your dollie is not separate from this rhythm. She was made within it. And she can help you work with it deliberately, intentionally, month by month, if you let her.

Here is how.

The New Moon — Setting Intention Together

The new moon is the dark of the sky — the moment of beginning, of seed, of quiet potential.

This is the time to sit with your dollie and speak your intention for the cycle ahead. You don’t need ceremony, though you may use it if it calls to you. You need only honesty.

Hold her in your hands or place her before you. Light a candle if you wish. And speak — aloud or in your heart — what you are calling in. What you are ready to begin. What you are asking her to witness and support.

She will hold that intention. This is part of what she was made for.

Suggested practice: Write your intention on a small piece of paper and tuck it beneath her, or tie it with thread to her wrist. Let her carry it with you through the cycle.

The Waxing Moon — Building and Becoming

As the moon grows full, energy builds. This is the time of action, momentum, and becoming.

Your dollie during the waxing phase is an activator. Place her somewhere you will see her often — your workspace, your mirror, your kitchen table. Let her presence remind you of the intention you set. Let her be a visual anchor for what you are building.

Notice if she seems to want to move — if you feel pulled to place her somewhere new, trust that. The dollies often communicate through this kind of quiet knowing.

Suggested practice: Each morning during the waxing moon, place your hand on your dollie for a moment before you begin your day. No words needed. Just contact. Just remembering.

The Full Moon — Illumination and Gratitude

The full moon is the great revealing. What has been growing in the dark is now brought to light.

This is the time to sit with your dollie and notice what has shifted since the new moon. What has arrived — even partially, even in unexpected forms? What has been illuminated in you that was previously unseen?

The full moon is also a time of charging. Place your dollie on a windowsill or outdoors where the moonlight can reach her. She will absorb that energy and hold it for you.

Suggested practice: Speak three things aloud to her — one that arrived, one that surprised you, one that you are grateful for. Gratitude is not small work. It is the most powerful signal you can send to what you are co-creating.

The Waning Moon — Releasing and Clearing

As the moon diminishes, we release what no longer serves. Old patterns. Old stories. Old versions of ourselves we have outgrown.

Your dollie during the waning phase is a witness to your release. This is the time for shadow work, for grief, for honest reckoning.

You may find yourself wanting to speak difficult things to her. Do. She will not flinch. She was made to hold what is heavy as much as what is luminous.

Suggested practice: Write what you are releasing on a piece of paper. Read it aloud to your dollie. Then burn it safely, or tear it and release it to water or earth. She has witnessed it. It is done.

The Dark Moon — Rest and Integration

The dark moon — the final days before the new moon returns — is for stillness.

Do not push. Do not plan. Rest with your dollie in the quiet. Let the cycle integrate. Let what has been released leave fully before you begin again.

Many people find the dark moon difficult — our culture has no patience for fallow time. But your dollie was not made in hurry. She was made in the slow, sacred hum of deep attention.

She knows how to rest. Let her show you.

Suggested practice: Place your dollie near where you sleep during the dark moon. Ask her to work with you in dreams — to bring what needs to surface before the new cycle begins.

A Note on Following Your Own Guidance

Everything I have written here is a beginning, not a prescription.

Your dollie came to you specifically. The way you work with her will be specific to you — to your energy, your needs, your unfolding. Some of what I’ve offered will resonate immediately. Some will not apply at all. Some of it you will discover entirely on your own.

Trust that.

The union between you and your dollie is not something I can fully map. It forms itself, in its own way, in its own time.

What I can tell you is this:

She is listening. She is with you. And the moon always returns.

She Is Waiting
